One of the most effective types of video to promote your business is also one of the cheapest and easiest to create. Want to find out what it is? Keep watching.

Hi there. I’m Jim from Green Spark.

When people buy a product or service online what’s the main thing they look for? It’s not necessarily price – often it’s proof that the product or service is right for them. The way they do that is looking for reviews and testimonials from people who’ve used that product or service. In fact, according to research by Bright Local, 88% of consumers place as much trust in online reviews as they do in personal recommendations given to them by people they know.

Now a written testimonial’s great, and you might already have some on your website. But a video testimonial just adds a whole nother layer of authenticity. People can look at the person talking and decide whether they trust them.

Also when you’re asking a customer questions while they’re on camera you can help them to tell the story of their interaction with you. You can help them to talk about the problems they were experiencing before they came to you, how you helped to solve their problems, and where they are now. And you might be surprised to find how easy it is to get your customers to talk about you on camera.

If you think that people might turn you down, ask. And you might be surprised to find how many are actually really willing to talk about how great you are.
