AV Event Technician

Help Deliver Exceptional Live Events

Green Spark is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic AV Event Technician to join our growing team delivering conferences, awards ceremonies, live events, installations and broadcast projects across the UK.

This is a practical, hands-on role working with audio visual, lighting, staging and video systems both in our warehouse and on-site at events and venues.

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic salary: £25,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
  • Typical on target earnings: £27,500 – £38,600
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Pension
  • 28 days holiday plus additional service-related holiday
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Travel, accommodation and expenses provided when working awa

About the Role

As an AV Event Technician, you’ll be part of the team responsible for preparing, setting up and operating technical equipment for a wide range of live events and productions.

Projects regularly include conferences, presentations, award ceremonies, launches, streaming productions and AV installations.

This is a varied role where no two weeks are the same. One day you may be preparing LED video wall systems in the warehouse, the next operating sound or video systems on-site at a live event.

We are looking for people who enjoy practical problem solving, working as part of a team and delivering high standards in fast-paced live environments.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Setting up audio visual, staging and lighting equipment
  • Operating sound, lighting and video systems for live events
  • Preparing and packing equipment
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Delivering and collecting equipment
  • Supporting AV installations and maintenance
  • Preparing show graphics and media
  • Providing basic technical support to clients and end users

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for somebody with practical live event and AV experience who is reliable, proactive and eager to develop their skills further.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working on live events or AV productions
  • Practical knowledge of sound, lighting or video systems
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Full UK driving licence

You do not need to be an expert in every discipline, but a solid understanding and practical experience in one or more technical areas is important.

Relevant Experience

Please note that this role is focused on practical live event production and hands-on audio visual delivery.

Whilst experience in film, media or content creation can be beneficial, this role is not primarily a film production or studio-based position. We are specifically looking for candidates with practical experience in live event audio visual systems and event technology.

Experience solely in film production, photography, editing or media creation without hands-on live event AV setup and operation experience is unlikely to be suitable for this role.

Why Join Green Spark?

We’re a long-established production company with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality live events and AV solutions.

Our team works across conferences, awards, streaming, LED video walls, installations and broadcast projects, meaning no two weeks are ever the same.

We believe in:

  • Supporting and developing our team
  • Giving people ownership and responsibility
  • Maintaining high standards
  • Investing in equipment, systems and training
  • Building long-term relationships with clients and staff alike
