Touching the Tide is a Heritage Lottery Fund Landscape Partnership Scheme along the Suffolk Coast. It is hosted by the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are 14 Partners, including Local Authorities, Statutory Agencies, conservation and community organisations, and committed individuals.
Touching the Tide approached Green Spark to help them get their message “out there”. Touching the Tide had a lot to say and a lot to do. With great care and attention our design and animation team integrated with Touching the Tide, making sure that their message and story was the focus at every stage.
The work that Touching the Tide carry out isn’t simple or straightforward in terms of engineering, ecology or moral judgements. A solution for one party may well have negative impacts for others and these conflicts mean that it was important that their film works across all ages, genders and social spectrums.
A large part of the key to success of the Touching the Tide partnership is it’s ability to get people involved and to educate. The preservation of Suffolk’s coastline is somethings that is not only constant now but will need to be ongoing forever. In order to achieve this Touching the Tide knew that getting children (and therefore their parents) involved, was also vital.
From storyboarding, script editing, character creation, design, animation and final editing Green Spark balanced complex target audience requirements to create beautiful media that not only stood as finished items but also offered Touching the Tide collateral which could be used in other formats throughout their wide range of activities.
